It’s only a couple of weeks before the new F1 season kicks off in Albert Park, Melbourne at the Australian Grand Prix and I, for one, can’t wait. In fact, at Avis, we’re all massive F1 fans.
This season sees the most radical technical changes to the cars in years, including changes to the aerodynamics, tyres and the much talked about KERS. These changes have been introduced to increase reliability and further reduce cost for the teams. They are also designed to reduce the role of aerodynamics in the cars’ performance, make overtaking easier and keep lap times in check. If you’ve seen any pictures, you know that the cars also look quite different to previous seasons.
As regular readers of this blog will know, we supported Lewis Hamilton in 2008 on his way to becoming World Champion. And this year is no different! We’d love to see Lewis go all the way again with his second title in two years!
Avis is also heavily involved in the British Grand Prix, being the official car rental partner to Silverstone in 2008! Last year, Avis provided the cars for the chauffeur-driven shuttle service that picked up VIPs, team members and officials arriving by helicopter to take them to their trackside destination.
So, good luck Lewis and here’s to another exciting F1 season!
