Hi Richard,

If you are pre-paying then the only thing held on the card will be the fuel cost and then any extras you choose to take, e.g. excess reduction, baby seats, GPS etc.
The fuel for example is “unblocked” at the end of the rental providing you’ve returned the car full.

The Visa Debit(not Electron, Switch, Maestro, etc.) will be accepted for collection.
Also the extras can be taken off your wife’s card but that same card that you booked with must be presented at collection time.

sorry i also meant to ask when we collect the car can my wife who will be with me pay the extras on her card or does it have to be a card in my name.

hi i am planning on hirreing a car through yourselves at Nimes Airport France. I plan on prepaying for the hire in advance, with the above in mind can you please advise me as to how much you will block on my card as deposit ? also would a visa debit card be ok for collection if need be ? many thanks Richard

The locations in France should accept the Visa Debit cards(but not Electron, Switch, Maestro, etc),

Hi, I just wanted to say a BIG THANKYOU to you and your staff, i recently came back from a holiday in Italy, and flew into Milan Malpensa Airport Terminal 2, where your Car Hire staff were very helpful, very polite and we received our two cars that we hired very quickly. We are travelling to Figari in Corsica tomorrow and have had to cancel the car we booked as we only have a visa debit card. Can you tell me if it is possible to book a car from location above with a via debit card and not a credit card?

Hello Douglas,

In the U.K., Visa Debit(ie, not Electron, Switch, Maestro, etc.)will be accepted. Hi. I require to book a car from Birmingham Airport in May. I will be paying the full amount in advance by Visa Debit. Can you confirm if I will require a credit card when I collect the car or will the Visa Debit be sufficient? Also, given I have paid in advance will an amount be held against my Visa Debit and if so, for what amount?

I have been in contact with Avis Warsaw and they tell me unfortunately they only accept credit cards in Avis Poland,
