We always get questions from our customers asking about renting a vehicle for more than a month. If you have tried making a reservation on www.avis.co.uk for this length of time, you will probably have noticed that it will only let you book for a maximum of 28 days. However, this does not mean we do not offer rentals for longer than 28 days. In fact, you can rent with us for as long as you want, whether it’s 1 day or 100 days!

If you require a car for longer than 28 days, simply book the car for 28 days on our website and notify the rental agent when you pick up the car on how long you require it for. When the first 28 days are close to completion, the rental location will call you to check that you wish to extend the rental. If the answer is yes, the rental will be extended until the required time. Alternatively, you can call our reservations centre on 08445 81 81 81 and one of our agents will be able to help you book the car for the length you need it for.

If you’re a business customer, it might be worth taking a look at Avis Business Solutions. This could get you an even better price on your longer-term rental as well as giving you the option of a delivery and collection service.

2 Responses to “Long Term Rentals”

  1. I recently rented a vehicle from Potchefstroom South Africa.
I was told that I cannot use our Travel agency for rates.
I could not use partner s Like British Airways executive club.
I cannot get it on mileage included yet I am an USA resident.
I had to go back every month to sign the new agreement even though I am more than a thousand miles away!
This despite the fact that I indicated that I would be needing the vehicle on a longer term basis – 3 months.
When I questioned the fact that I have to return and sign every time I was told that it is Avis policy that the account need to be closed off every 30 days!

I have never received any invoices yet. I called the local travel agent division of Avis – here I was told they do not have an option for travel agents tour operators and do not know how to deal with my case.
The people are very friendly, but do not know anything about bookings through the Travel Industry.
So I pay extra mileage all the way too.

Please assist me before we formally query it through Prestige travel Systems in the USA.
    Thank you
    H Christina La Buschagne

  2. Hi Christina,

Would you be able to email us your rental agreement number to comments@avis.co.uk with the details of your query and we will forward the information to Avis in the US for them to investigate.

    Stephen
